Start With Good Dimensions

Document the component before designing around it

Sometimes you have the physical part. Sometimes you have an STL, STEP, SolidWorks, manufacturer CAD, PCB file, or another model with no useful dimensioned drawing. Laztronics can document the key mounting, interface, and clearance dimensions that become the baseline for the new design.

Drawing terminology matters. For an existing component, the deliverable is a dimensioned reference drawing because the original design tolerances may not be known. A new Laztronics-designed part can include a dimensioned engineering or manufacturing drawing with the agreed production requirements.

You do not need engineering drawings to begin. Send a sketch, photograph, AI-generated concept image, reference product, written description, or the hardware that needs to fit inside the part. Laztronics will help turn the concept into something that can actually be manufactured.

01 — Document Create dimensioned reference drawings for the existing components the design must interface with.
02 — Design Turn requirements, sketches, reference images, or existing hardware into a manufacturable 3D model.
03 — Print and Fit Check Verify fit, clearances, mounting, connector access, assembly, ergonomics, and geometry.
04 — Finalize Prepare the design and drawings for the intended manufacturing process, not just a prototype STL.
05 — Manufacture Support vendor communication, file preparation, feedback review, and production changes.

Final production can include injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal, production 3D printing, or other plastic and metal fabrication through manufacturing partners in the United States or abroad.
